The Virginia M. Keeler papers, 1985-1994 (bulk 1989-1990).

This collection contains the research materials collected by Virginia M. Keeler in writing her thesis for the degree of Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. The thesis, entitled 'The search for freedom, and freedom found: the life and art of Brother Francis C. Schroen, S.J.' was submitted to the School for Summer and Continuing Education at Georgetown University on April 29, 1989. Francis Schroen was the Jesuit artist who executed decorative paintings at a number of establishments of the Society of Jesus, including Healy Hall at Georgetown University and Gasson Hall at Boston College. In her project proposal, Keeler wrote, "It would be the focus of my project to endeavor to collect on slides what survives of his work, and to explore his life." Included in the collection are copies of Keeler's thesis, various shorter manuscripts, incoming and outgoing correspondence, printed articles, notes, photographs, a video, and slides.
